Behind the scenes of the Google Art Project
I’ve been dying to see something like this, and it’s just as cool as I imagined.
Seriously, how do I work for these people? Google + Art Museums + Art History combines all my favorite things.
Magic Tate Ball App from Tate Modern
Too cool! As you may or may not know, I’m obsessed when technology and art museums come together.
NEED to go back to London so that I may go to the Yayoi Kusama exhibit at the Tate Modern.
Leonardo Live (2011)
Saw this last night at Regal Arbor, as did many Renaissance-obsessed people like me across the country. While the film was horridly shot, even getting a hurried glance into an exhibition that featured half of Leonardo’s known paintings (including the newly attributed Salvatore Mundi), was worth the price of the ticket. Also, holy bejesus, BOTHMadonna of the Rocks in one ROOM? Ugh. I would give up a year of my life to be in that room.
(via Instagram-Powered Art Show to Open in London)
Such an interesting (and expected) progression. Part of me scoffs at all this “Look Ma! I’m a photographer!” business but in reality, I use Instagram just as much as anyone else and hope that it’ll give me a quick way to take cool photos. Why shouldn’t we celebrate that?
Especially because if you take a quick look at Instagram’s Popular tab, you’ll see that some people are really producing great results from a little ol’ iPhone app.
